T?his textbook offers a comprehensive introduction to the basic principles ruling the working mechanism of the most common solid-state electronic devices. It covers the physics of semiconductors and the properties of junctions of semiconductors with semiconductors, metals, and insulators.
Corrado Di Natale is professor of Electronics at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy. He teaches courses on “electronic devices and sensors” and “chemical sensors and biosensors” and he is the director of the PhD program in Electronics and director of the Interdepartmental Centre for Volatolomics “A. D’Amico". His research activity has been concerned with the development and application of chemical and bio-sensors, artificial sensorial systems (olfaction and taste) and their applications for human volatolome detection, the optical and electronic properties of organic and molecular material, and the application of machine learning to sensors data.
