    Beskrivning

This volume presents a study on the form, process and evolution of the Karstified coasts of Ritchie's Archipelago Havelock Island, Neil Island and Little Andaman of South Andaman District, India using geographical information systems and ground-based field work. Topics covered include physical settings, coastal geomorphology, habitats function, karstification’s, reef islands with carbonate sediment supply, antecedent karst morphology and future geomorphic responses of the carbonate group of islands.  The study contains chapters detailing physical settings of the South Andaman Islands, coastal geomorphology and habitats, Karstified coasts and coastal hydraulics, Reef islands and carbonate sediments and Antecedent karst morphology and future geomorphic responses. The entire work of the book serves as a transferable example of management of the island ecosystems and supports further research on physical geography of tropical oceanic islands.
