He was awarded a national ACCEA Silver Award (2021) being supported by the Royal College of Surgeons and Imperial College. Included in the top 2% of Scientists worldwide according to the Stanford List since 2020. Marco Scarci MD, FRCS(Eng), FCCP, FACS, FEBTS: Dr. Scarci is a consultant thoracic surgeon at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK, and a Honorary Senior Lecturer National Heart and Lungs Institute, Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, with over 10 years of experience in Cambridge, London and abroad. His specialist training took place in Malta, the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and Guy's and St Thomas', London. Following a six-month fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Toronto, Canada, Mr Scarci was appointed consultant thoracic surgeon at Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge in 2011.
