“Covering the entire range of contents and methods of Büchner-related research, the Georg Büchner Jahrbuch is to serve as a forum for stocktaking and innovation, reflection and debate, source documentation and easy communication, discussion and mutual understanding”. Ever since setting this goal in the preface to Volume 1 (1981), the Büchner Yearbook has been striving to achieve its aim in all of its regularly published sections (Essays – Debates – Short Contributions and Commentaries – Documents and Materials). With 100 contributions from 14 countries, wide acclaim not only from experts and, last but by no means least, the development of Büchner-related research as such, the Büchner Yearbook has turned out a great success.
