Nine long-distance and numerous regional cycle paths justify the region's reputation as a cyclist's paradise. The Lüneburg Heath with its flat, forestless heath landscape, the rivers Aller and Wümme and moorland characterize the region. A few interesting places such as Celle, Rotenburg or Winsen are worth a detour, as are destinations such as the Heidepark Soltau or the Vogelpark Walsrode.
