Kyriacos Efthymiou was born in 1954 in Nicosia, Cyprus, Efthymiou is a renowned poet, writer, and actor. He began his career at the Theater Organization of Cyprus and is celebrated for his contributions to both literature and the performing arts.Literary Achievements: Efthymiou’s poetry collection Bent Salt Seller won the State Poetry Prize of the Republic of Cyprus. The Red Horse marks his first foray into prose, following several acclaimed poetry collections, plays, and screenplays.Style and Themes: Efthymiou’s writing is noted for its emotional depth, lyrical language, and exploration of themes such as displacement, family, loss, and the search for meaning. His stories resonate with readers seeking both cultural specificity and universal human experience. He lives and writes in Cyprus. Vassiliki Rapti born and raised in Greece, did graduate studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, and at Washington University in St. Louis, where she earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature with an Emphasis in Drama. In addition to various academic publications, she is the author of the bilingual poetry collection Transitorium (Somerset Hall Press, 2015) and, most recently, Bathed in Moonlight (Čevená Barva Press, 2023). Her poetry and translations have been published in various international journals. She is Chair of the Ludics Seminar of the Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard University, where she founded the Advanced Training in Greek Poetry Translation and Performance Workshop, and in recent years has taught World Literature and Digital Culture at Emerson College. She is the founding director of the collective of scholars and artists Citizen TALES Commons. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Peter Bottéas. A native of Toronto, Canada, Peter Bottéas holds a Master's degree in Translation from the Université de Montréal and worked for many years as a translator, revisor, editor, and educator in Québec. After two decades as a psychotherapist in Boston, he recently returned to one of his first loves, literary translation. His translation of Vassiliki Rapti’s most recent collection of poetry, Bathed in Moonlight, was published by Čevená Barva Press in January 2023. Along with Vassiliki, he is co-host of the podcast series Borders Unbound: Hellenic Poetry of the Diaspora and Beyond. Peter is also an occasional voice-over artist, an infrequent poet, and an aficionado of Greek and French poetry set to music. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Barbara Danis is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of emotional and behavioral problems in young children, particularly disruptive behaviors. She has provided training in specialty clinics for pre-school aged children with behavior challenges since 2001. Her dedication to this translation project comes from her desire to hone her skills in Modern Greek and to delve into the history of Greece and Cyprus.
