Norse Mythology

The Norse gods presented as the religion of the ancestors rather than as fable - Odin, the world tree, Ragnarok - by the Wisconsin professor who founded Scandinavian studies in America and later served as minister to Denmark. This edition adds 58 plates of paintings by August Malmstrom, Peter Nicolai Arbo, Nikolaus Lauer and Lorenz Frolich, dating from 1750 to 1905, alongside one restored and coloured in-text illustration.
