Car of Destiny

A motor tour through Spain in the years when a car on those roads was still an event, with a chauffeur who is somebody else and a claim to a throne in the luggage. The Williamsons drove the routes themselves and wrote the books as a couple; the motoring is exact and the romance is the excuse. This edition binds 58 plates of painting with the text, among them works by Bennett Hubbard, Francisco Pradilla y Ortiz and John Phillip, alongside two restored and coloured illustrations.
