Cat of Bubastes

An Egyptian household in the reign of Thutmose, a sacred cat killed by accident, and the flight that follows. Henty wrote more than a hundred boys'' historical novels, each researched from the standard authorities, and taught the British Empire its history more thoroughly than any schoolmaster. This edition binds 42 plates of painting with the text, among them Roman capriccios and ruins by Panini, Amorosi and Paltronieri, alongside six illustrations restored and coloured for this volume.
