Guy Mannering

A laird''s heir is stolen as a child, a gypsy woman curses the house that turned her out, and an astrologer''s prediction hangs over the whole thing for twenty years. Scott wrote it in six weeks and Meg Merrilies became one of the great stage parts of the century. This edition binds nineteen plates by painters including Edvard Munch, Margaret Gillies and John Glover, and restores and colours twelve in-text illustrations.
