Glyph Table of Seal Script and Official Script of Qin, Han, Wei and Jin Dynasties is mainly edited by Mr. Xu Wuwen, a famous calligrapher and seal carver. It is a companion volume of Glyph Table of Ancient Chinese Characters. As we know, the characters of the seal script system handed down from the pre-Qin period are called ancient characters; the orthodox Chinese characters that we use today are called regular script which developed from the Wei, Jin, and Southern and Northern Dynasties and became prosperous in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Qin, Han, Wei and Jin Dynasties were not only the period of the prevalence of Xiaozhuan and official script, but also the critical period of the development and evolution of Chinese characters from ancient Chinese characters to today's orthodox Chinese characters.
