Education of Love

The Love Education / Classic Books for the Growth of Teenagers is compiled by the editorial committee of Classic Books for the Growth of Teenagers. Edmondo De Amicis, the author of Love Education / Classic Books for the Growth of Teenagers, was born in 1846 in the beautiful town of Oneglia on the west coast of Ligure, Italy (the town was merged with Maurizio, another port town within a stone's throw into the present-day city of Imperia). He loved learning since he was a child, and he loved military life as a teenager. After graduating from the military academy in 1865, he became an infantry officer and took part in the Third Italian War of Independence the following year. Later, he wrote many reports and features based on his rich military experience for many years. These works were published as Military Life in 1868. De Amicis had traveled to many countries and published a series of travel notes, among which the most famous were Spain (1872), Travel in Netherlands and London (1874), Morocco (1876), Constantinople (1879), Friends (1883), A Teacher's Novel (1890), A Question of School and Family (1892), and Everybody's Carriage (1899), Memories of Childhood and School life (1901) and Noble Clan Language (1905). His later works were famous for description of family, school, social education and life.
