Takamitsu Muraoka, Ph.D. (1970) in Hebrew, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is Professor of Hebrew Language and Literature, Israelite Antiquities and Ugaritic at the State University of Leiden, The Netherlands. His publications focus on the ancient Egyptian Aramaic texts, and include Archives from Elephantine (Berkeley, 1968) and, jointly with A. Yardeni, Textbook of Aramaic Documents from Ancient Egypt, 4 vols. (Jerusalem, 1986-).
