Gendering Roman Imperialism

Hannah Cornwell, DPhil. (2013), is Associate Professor of Ancient History at the University of Birmingham. She has published on the Roman concept of peace as an expression of imperialism, including Pax and the Politics of Peace: Republic to Principate (OUP, 2017), and also examines diplomatic culture in the Roman world. Greg Woolf, Ph.D. (1990), is Ronald J. Mellor Professor of Ancient History at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has published on various aspects of Roman cultural history and archaeology and is currently completing a book on civilizational change in Rome.
