“C” takes place mostly in Stockholm, Sweden, and is an autobiography. It is a beautiful but very painful story about impossible love and the bitter reality of cancer. C is twice my age, but she turns my whole life upside down. I’m 26 years old, and I’m in love with a woman for the first time. She attracts me like no one else ever has. This is in spite of the fact that she has breast cancer, which also means she has no hair and has only one breast. Our love is forbidden in several ways and remains a big secret. C is a public figure and has two children from an earlier marriage. We sneak around constantly, looking for every opportunity to be together. Will someone discover us? Our secrecy haunts us and eventually becomes destructive.
