Modern Textbook in Bengali as Foreign Language

The Bengali pronunciation is transscribed by International Phonetic Alphabet. There are ten lessons in this book which are designed pedagogically. An English speaker, starting from her/his own background, becomes acquainted with some speech sounds which are useful in Bengali word-building. The contens of the second part are designed to make bengali easy for foreigners, specially for those who will learn Bengali as a third language. Only the parts of speech, tense and case are dealt with in grammar. The ten lessons of this book are enough to enable a learner to read and comprehend stories and poems in Bengali, to understand Bengali speech sounds on the air, and to chat in Bengali , even with any one of tens of millions illiterate Bengalis
