Institutionalizing Common Pool Resources

This volume presents a unique interdisciplinary assembly of thoughts in which agricultural scientists, fisheries scientists, forestry experts, alternative medicine systems experts, environmental and resource economists, geographers, ecologists, anthropologists, sociologists, political scientists, physicists, biologists, botanists, environmental engineers, environmental advocates and philosophers, journalists and environmental policy analysts have addressed their tasks focusing on institutions as a crosscutting theme in their writings on sustainable use of common pool resources (CPRs). As such the book may serve as the basis for orchestrating a coordinated research programme in the different agro-climatic conditions in the country and as a framework to build-up institutional reforms to complement the structural adjustment programmes which are aimed at a sustainable management of CPRs.
