    Beskrivning

The emphasis on historical context and narrative for Spielvogel/Spielvogel’s “Major Problems in Western Civilization, Volume II” 1st Edition, allows students to easily situate each document within relevant time periods. Students assess the purpose of each document and answer carefully designed questions that provoke critical reflection. An array of sources are introduced such as law codes, military records, liturgical writings, examples from art and literature, personal correspondence and government records. This collection was crafted to address the various political, social, economic and cultural issues that characterize history. The diversity of material demonstrates how multifaceted resources shaped Western Civilization. This comprehensive approach allows students to engage the complexity of Western Civilization in a format that is accessible and inclusive.
