Windflower Vibration: A Story of Mystery, Medicine, Music and Romance

A man collapses and dies while swimming off an Auckland beach on a cold winter morning. Georgina watches the rescue helicopter from the shore with her grandson, and thinks nothing of it, until the dead man's fragile, china-doll wife draws her into the story. Was Harry's death simply a heart attack, as the doctors say? Or did someone help him along? As Georgina quietly investigates, visiting England, staying at a crumbling farmhouse called Crab Apple Hall, flying over the Midlands in a light aircraft piloted by the newly confident Phyllida, and tracking an elusive and dangerous doctor across two countries, the threads begin to multiply.A mysterious love letter signed only Your Windflower. Elgar's violin concerto and its secret muse. A dog made ill by tampered insulin. A young gardener with expensive tastes. A pattern of forbidden romances and quiet crimes that seems to repeat itself across two hemispheres and two centuries, as if connected by invisible threads.Warm, intelligent, and quietly gripping, The Windflower Vibration is a cozy mystery built around a cast of richly drawn characters whose lives interweave in ways none of them fully understand until the very end.Can be read as a standalone or as the culminating novel of the trilogy with Carmen's Roses and Blue Moon for Bombers.
