Shadows of the Desert

Shadows of the DesertSaudi Arabia, Israel, and a Century of Secret Alignment"e;Condemnation by day, cooperation by night."e;Saudi Arabia condemns Israel in public. Yet in private, crisis after crisis, it has stood with Israel against the same enemies: Nasser, the Soviets, Saddam, Khomeini's Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, the Houthis. Coincidence — or a bond forged at birth? In Shadows of the Desert, Sado Faraji traces the paradox to 1924, when Sharif Hussein refused to sign away Palestine and lost his throne, while Ibn Saud — who did not refuse — rose in his place. From that hour, Faraji argues, the fate of the Arabian Peninsula was bound to the fate of the Zionist project, whether anyone said so aloud or not.Drawing on British parliamentary records, declassified State Department files, and archival documents rarely seen, the book uncovers a century of convergence: the secret Treaty of Jeddah in 1927, a covert channel to Zionist leaders in the 1940s, quiet cooperation in Yemen, and reported Saudi strikes on Iran in 2026.This is not conspiracy — it is history laid bare. Every claim is sorted into what is documented, what is inferred, and what is the author's own reading, and a full chapter is handed to the strongest case against the book's own thesis.Sharif Hussein is buried in Jerusalem, in sight of al-Aqsa — the king who would not sign, laid to rest beside the city he refused to surrender. His kingdom vanished; the order he rejected still stands. Saudi Arabia and Israel are not the same state, the same faith, or the same people. But they were born in the same decade, from the collapse of the same empire.Provocative, meticulously sourced, and written with the pace of a thriller, Shadows of the Desert hands the reader the evidence — and lets them judge.
