Call me Queer

Liverpool, 1999.Patrick Whiteside has bought a house, and he knows exactly who he wants to fill it with. There's Tyler, his oldest friend, who spends more nights awake than asleep. Harry, quiet and cautious, still trying to find the confidence to live as openly as the people around him. And Keenan, a trans man determined to build a future in which he can be known simply as himself. For the first time, the four of them have a place of their own. A place to fall in love, make mistakes, bring boys home, argue, laugh and discover what adulthood might look like when they are free to live it together. But freedom does not mean safety, and as the new millennium approaches, their lives begin to change in ways none of them could have anticipated. New relationships bring unexpected happiness, old fears refuse to stay in the past, and one devastating diagnosis forces them to confront the reality of HIV and AIDS at a time when its shadow still hangs heavily over their community.Through love, grief, friendship and everything in between, Tyler, Patrick, Keenan and Harry learn that there is no single way to be queer — and no single way to build a life worth living.Call Me Queer is a story of four young men, one shared home, and the people they become within it.
