Blood, Sweat, & Blues: The Brett Riley Story

A cook. A musician. A survivor. A sinner. From the backroads of South Jersey to the kitchens of New York City, from addiction and recovery to music, loss, love, and second chances, Blood, Sweat, & Blues is the true story of Brett Riley. It is a story of jail cells and jazz chords. Of line cooks and late nights. Of lost fathers, loyal friends, dogs who never left his side, and the strange collection of people who become family along the way.Riley spent much of his life running—from grief, addiction, expectations, and sometimes himself. What followed was a long, crooked road through restaurant kitchens, stages, relationships, recovery, and the search for somewhere he actually belonged.Raw, profane, funny, painful, and unapologetically personal, Blood, Sweat, & Blues isn't a story about getting everything right. It's about surviving long enough to understand what mattered—and discovering that sometimes the road home leads back to the same marsh where the story began.
