Notes from the Field

efore the sun comes up, the work is already teaching. In Notes from the Field, Christopher Edwards opens his field journal — 32 short, first-person notes from caregiving visits and transport runs, from the people who crossed his path and the businesses he built while working a job.The work: the clients who taught him about dignity, patience, and showing up when nobody's watching. The people: reading a room, earning skeptics, keeping your word, handling conflict with grace. The money: cash flow scares, the night he almost quit, why consistency beats intensity. The foundation: morning rituals, family, faith, and the letter he'd leave for his son. Each note ends with a bold Lesson and a concrete takeaway — wisdom you can use the same day you read it. 8,000 words of the real stuff, no filler. Part of the Playbook Press library — practical books for people building a life, not just a bookshelf.
