A Heart Drenched in Rain: A Contemporary Indian Romance Novella | A Love Story Born on the Banks of the KollidamWhere the rain begins, love begins...On the banks of the Kollidam — a gentle tributary of the sacred Kaveri — in the heart of a small Tamil Nadu town near Tiruchirappalli, two strangers meet beneath a single black umbrella in the middle of a sudden monsoon downpour.Vaishnavi — a Tamil literature teacher and poet whose soul belongs to the river.Aditya — an IT project manager from Chennai, in town for a friend's wedding.Five minutes. One umbrella. A brief exchange of names. And then the rain stops — and they go their separate ways. But some meetings linger. And some rivers refuse to let go.What follows is a tender, lyrical love story — told through morning teas at old Nayudu's riverside teashop, poems written on smooth riverbank stones, long phone calls between two cities, and the slow, patient unfolding of two hearts that neither of them knew they were searching for.A Heart Drenched in Rain is more than a romance. It is a celebration of the small moments that quietly become the most important of our lives — of the places we return to, of the people who feel like home, of love that begins in the most ordinary of circumstances and becomes extraordinary.Threaded through this story are poems — written from Vaishnavi's heart — that capture the beauty of love, longing, and the river that witnessed it all.A lyrical South Indian romance set in Tamil NaduInspired by the real Kollidam river near TiruchirappalliOriginal poetry woven through the narrativeA story of love, patience, and belonging"e;Love does not look for the right place.
