While dramatic technological changes-from incandescent to LED lighting; from across-the-line-start motors to programmable logic control, variable frequency drives, and robotics-bring major advantages (such as energy efficiency, improved production, and much more) those new technologies also bring new problems and concerns.

In this introductory power quality reference book, Mark A. Shirah, a Certified Power Quality Expert with 30 years'' industry experience, discusses power quality issues and uses real-world case studies to illustrate various situations, problems, and resolutions. His simplified approach to explaining this complex subject matter has been beneficial to linemen, engineers, engineering techs, troublemen, key account managers, safety officers, customer service reps, meter techs, and many others in his Power Quality & Reliability classes and throughout his career.
