Gerund Violence

Across the ports, institutions, landscape, and city streets of the Netherlands and Barcelona, this new volume from Claudia Pagès Rabal collects the artist’s research and practice around what she has called “gerund violence.” Navigating scenes of alienation, solitude, stilted encounters, political organizing, outdoor raves, depositions, and unexpected camaraderies, Pagès writes a protagonist arrested in the circuitous grammars of a suspended verbal tense, in the fugue that defines life caught in the continuous present of choreography and surveillance. With librettos, autofiction, videos, and drawings by Claudia Pagès Rabal, and a foreword by Zoey Kira Lubitz.Co-published with the Center for Experimental Lectures
