John C. Richards is a screenwriter and freelance writer based in Los Angeles. Originally from Rochester, New York, he spent time living in Canada and New Orleans before relocating to L.A., where he pursued his writing career. One of his most notable works is Nurse Betty, a black comedy directed by Neil LaBute. The film was well received, winning the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay. He is also active in other creative domains: through his role at Campfire Films, Inc., he works as a writer, producer, and director, involved in film, television, and music projects. Richards continues to develop new work, including a novel in progress, maintaining a presence in both the screen and literary worlds.
