Lars, der im sächsischen Bautzen in einem kleinen Kämmerchen neben dem Friedhof ein trostloses Dasein fristet, dem die Frau zuvor davongelaufen ist und dem auch die Arbeit immer bitterer schmeckt, beschließt alles hinter sich zu lassen. Ohne Telefon macht er sich am letzten Januartag heimlich und wortlos aus dem Staub. Während in der Heimat erst Tage später sein Verschwinden bemerkt wird, sitzt Lars vor der Sagrada Família in Barcelona, neben ihm steht ein Rucksack und eine Flasche Bier. Das ist der Anfang eines waghalsigen Wander-Abenteuers. Mit seiner unzureichenden Ausrüstung (weder Zelt noch Gasbrenner) und kleinem Budget läuft er los. Sein Ziel ist das Nordkap, doch vorher will er direkt am Mittelmeer bis zum südlichsten Punkt des europäischen Festlandes laufen. Warum? Weil er schon seit Jahren den Traum hat, zu erfahren, ob er es schaffen kann, zu Fuß durch ganz Europa, vom südlichsten zum nördlichsten Punkt, zu laufen. Er kennt die Strecke nicht, ihm steht auch kein GPS oder sonstige technische Hilfe zur Verfügung. Er weiß nur das eine, dass etwa 9.000 Kilometer zu Fuß vor ihm liegen, was bedeutet, dass er pro Monat etwa tausend Kilometer zurücklegen muss, um spätestens Anfang November am Nordkap zu sein. So wird es eine Reise der Extreme, einem ständigen Innehalten, mit vielen Selbstreflexionen und trotzdem immer auch ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit. Und nach den ersten eintausend Kilometern geht Lars auch noch das Geld aus ...Band I: Lars kommt nach Andalusien und Gibraltar, weiter nach Portugal durch die Algarve und am Atlantik geht es schließlich hinauf nach Norden, von Lissabon zum westlichsten Punkt des europäischen Festlandes und ab Porto weiter auf den Jakobswegen Caminho Português, bis nach Santiago de Compostela und von dort aus auf dem Camino del Norte bis zur französischen Grenze.

Lars, der vor einem guten Vierteljahr beschloss, alles hinter sich zu lassen und die vergangenen Monate mit bescheidenen finanziellen Mitteln an den spanischen und portugiesischen Küsten sowie auf Jakobswegen verbracht hat (siehe Band I "Letzte Ausfahrt Jakobsweg"), ist nun bereits mitten drin in seinem Wander-Abenteuer. Sein Ziel ist nach wie vor das Nordkap, noch immer verlässt er sich auf seine eigenen Fähigkeiten und nicht auf technische Hilfsmittel. Knapp 4.000 Kilometer liegen ihm, doch weitere 5.000 liegen noch vor ihm. Es ist bereits Mitte Mai und er weiß, dass er nur bis spätestens Anfang November Zeit hat, die Arktis im rauen Norden durchzustehen. Doch fürs Erste heißt es die warmen Tage so gut es geht zu nutzen, um Frankreich, Belgien und die Niederlande zu durchwandern, um schon bald zurück in Deutschland zu sein. Ein Wettlauf gegen die Zeit und doch auch viel Zeit, um sich weiter viele Gedanken über sein eigenes Leben zu machen. Wie aus Band I gewohnt wird dabei nicht mit selbstironischen Episoden gespart.Band II: Lars läuft die französische Atlantikküste bis hinauf nach Nantes, von wo aus er am Ufer der Loire bis nach Orléans spaziert. Von hier aus geht es über Paris und Brügge nach Amsterdam. Der Weg führt weiter durch die Niederlande bis zur deutschen Grenze, wo es an der deutschen Nordseeküste durch Ostfriesland geht und weiter bis nach Cuxhaven an der Elbmündung. In Hamburg endet dieser Teil.

Lars, der vor einem knappen halben Jahr in Barcelona aufgebrochen ist, hat mittlerweile Deutschland erreicht und ist noch immer nicht gewillt, seinen Traum, den europäischen Kontinent zu Fuß zu durchqueren, aufzugeben. Wird er sein Ziel, das Nordkap, erreichen? Dies ist der abschließende Band nach "Letzte Ausfahrt Jakobsweg" und "Lied vom stillen Sommernachtstraum".Band III: Lars kommt durch Skandinavien, wandert dabei über verschiedene dänische Inseln, durch schwedische Wälder und auf dem Olavsweg von Oslo nach Trondheim. Von da an geht es entlang der Fjorde, über die Polargrenze und immer weiter hinauf in den arktischen Norden.

Ett levnadsöde i Stockholm under första hälften av 1800-talet, om en driftig ”selfmade man”, hans familj och andra omkring honom. En historisk roman baserad på verkliga händelser. Människorna i boken har levat och en hel del är känt om deras liv. En berättelse om framgång, familjeliv och stora sorger och svårigheter att kämpa mot.

Shuizhu har fallit.   Nordanslättska trupper håller staden i ett järngrepp, men bakom murarna spirar motståndet. I den kejserliga huvudstaden växer oron medan prins Tan Zhong Cheng leder en riskfylld marsch norrut för att återta det som gått förlorat. Hans armé är för liten, hans motståndare listiga – och tiden är knapp.   Samtidigt, inne i den ockuperade staden, verkar Spindeln Tien Xue i skuggorna. Tillsammans med en handfull allierade planerar hon ett våghalsigt försök att öppna portarna inifrån.
