När den twittrande polisen Viktor Adolphson inledde sin bana som officiell twittrare för Södermalmspolisen i januari 2012 anade han knappast hur stort genomslag hans 140-teckenmeddelanden skulle få. Sju år och 75 000 tweets senare finns facit.

YB Södermalm är ett fenomen på Twitter: en kommunikationskanal som informerar och engagerar. Den älskas och hatas av många fler än sina hundratusentals följare.

YB Södermalm: 140 tecken ur verkligheten tar läsaren bakom kulisserna och ger inblick i verksamheten. Det känns lite som en Pippi Långstrump för vuxna, där den avvikande kvinnan kommer till en liten bruksort i Sverige, där alla har förutfattade meningar om henne. Där hon tvingas vara stark, får utmaningar från myndigheter, och samhället i stort, och där hennes lojala vänner, i Pippis fall; Tommy och Annika, stannar lojalt vid hennes sida.

Det är en resa från barndomen, karaktärens kärlek till sin födelseort, hennes år utomlands, och ett brutalt uppvaknande, när hon förstår att samhället har förändrats och hon själv utvecklats. Samtidigt är skrivandet samhällskritiskt, med glamorösa inlägg om en tidigare karriär, drömmar om förverkligande, och de brutala motstånd som läggs framför henne.

Skrivandet bibehåller ett fokus, och vill uppnå en långsiktighet, något som skall bidra till en bättre värld, där politiska samarbeten, demokrati, och stöttande av invånaren och samhället, går hand i hand. Berättelsen är skriven av en verklighetsförankrad företagare, inte av en idérik, fantastisk, barn författare, men där huvudkaraktärerna besitter ett likvärdigt budskap – men till en äldre publik och på ett mer brutalt sätt år 2024, Sverige.

Samhället utvecklas, kulturen förändras, och folket är inte fullt medvetna vad det kan innebära. Tänk om de själva skulle våga vara lite annorlunda, ställa lite högre, onormala krav, eller utsättas för en myndighets förändring, utan samspel med invånaren? Tror vi att detta kan ske i Sverige idag?
