Mini-intervju med Jenny Colgan
You’re one of the most popular authors in Sweden, what’s your relationship to Sweden? Do you have one?
I absolutely love Sweden. I think it's one of the best countries in the world. I do feel an affinity with your country as we're on the same latitude and I think have the same climate! But every time I arrive- usually in Stockholm or Gothenburg- I just always feel happy. Also I like your food very much.
You make so many people happy through your books. What do you do yourself if you need to cheer yourself up?
Thank you that's kind. I play the piano a lot and I like watching my dogs. One of my dogs is quite smart, but the other is a total idiot. He's always getting his big nose into stupid things and he's just a very comical animal. Even though he's a lakeland terrier, which means he has a double layered coat for cold climates, his favourite place is under a blanket.
What’s your most memorable reading experience?
I love any book that immerses me in another world. I just love The Crimson Petal and the White which took me to Victorian England; I loved A Prayer for Owen Meany which really made me cry. But in my life I suppose when I was a child reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was my very best reading experience. I checked it out of our library fourteen times.
Visste du att ...
... Jenny gillar kakor, Doctor Who (alldeles för mycket), och att ha på sig Converse-skor varje dag?
... Jenny tycker om när böcker är riktigt långa? Ju längre desto bättre!
