Wie wird die literarische Aspasia-Figur in Platons Menexenos dargestellt und welche Bedeutung hat sie darin? Wie schrieben andere zeitgenossische Autoren in Platons Umfeld uber Aspasia? Aspasia von Milet, Gefahrtin und zweite Frau des Perikles, einem der bedeutendsten Staatsmanner der griechischen Antike, wird im Kontext von Platons Menexenos zum Gegenstand von vielerlei Diskussionen. Uber Aspasia selbst ist uns bekannt, dass ihr durch die Ehe mit Perikles die philosophischen Kreise der damaligen Zeit zuganglich waren und dass sie durch ebenjene Ehe eine einflussreiche Position innerhalb der Gesellschaft innehatte. Ihre Kritiker warfen ihr vor, ihren Einfluss genutzt zu haben, um die politischen Entscheidungen des Perikles mitzubestimmen, was freilich nicht ausgeschlossen werden kann. Vor allem wird dies in den zeitgenossischen Komodien, welche neben den Darstellungen der Sokratiker die einzigen Quellen uber das Leben Aspasias bilden, aufgegriffen und uberspitzt. Anhand der Komodien lasst sich auch erschlie en, dass die politischen Gegner des Perikles die nicht-athenische Abstammung Aspasias und ihr Verhalten in der Offentlichkeit zum Anlass nahmen, um sie und somit auch Perikles anzugreifen. Erwahnenswert ist hierbei, dass ihre Ehe aufgrund eines Gesetzes, das Perikles selbst erlassen hatte, in Athen nicht vollstandig anerkannt wurde, da Aspasia milesischer Abstammung war. Auch der Sohn, der aus dieser Ehe hervorging, wurde zunachst nicht als athenischer Vollburger anerkannt. Hieraus resultierend wurde Aspasia in den Komodien oft als Hetare, also eine Art Konkubine, oder gar als Hure des Perikles dargestellt und nicht als rechtma ige Ehefrau. Im weiteren Verlauf dieser Auseinandersetzung wurde Aspasia von ihren Gegnern sogar beschuldigt, fur kriegerische Auseinandersetzungen Athens, beispielsweise den Samischen oder gar den Peloponnesischen Krieg verantwortlich gewesen zu sein. Trotz all dieser Furore um ihre Person wird Aspasia in Platons Menexenos als fabelhafte Rednerin und als Rhetorik-Lehrerin des Sokrates dargestellt, die dort sogar als Urheberin des ?p?t?f??? ????? des Perikles bezeichnet wird.

What are the characteristics of Ian's and the soldier's masculinities? What is the relationship between them? How is the representation of masculinity connected to the play's overall message?The characters of Sarah Kane's play "e;Blasted"e; are two men and a woman. The plot begins in an expensive hotel room in Leeds, as Ian, a journalist who appears to be racist and abusive and Cate, his simple-minded, but good natured ex-girlfriend enter the stage. During the first two scenes, it is shown that Ian abuses Cate mentally and physically. He eventually rapes her off-stage. The scenes are clearly dominated by his male violence against her. The setting soon turns into an apocalyptic scenery, since Kane wanted to add an impression of the Bosnian War. (Saunders 38-39) As soon as the third character, the soldier, enters the stage, the violence reaches its peak. Ian, who was dominant and abusive until then, gets abused himself by the soldier, a truly cold-blooded, not to say purely evil man and hence is turned into an obedient and pitiable person, hardly with any bit of masculinity left. The quote from the beginning of this paper is the initiation of a process, that culminates in the destruction of Ian's masculinity. In this paper, I would like to investigate this phenomenon. In order to do so, I will examine R. W. Connell's concept of hegemonic masculinity and compare it to the male characters in Sarah Kane's Blasted.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Padagogik - Padagogische Psychologie, Note: 1,0, Technische Universitat Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig (Institut fur Padagogische Psychologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wie konnte ein geeignetes Forder- oder Interventionskonzept aussehen, um ein Kind, beispielsweise mit fruhkindlichem Autismus, zu therapieren? Um diese Frage zu beantworten, wird in dieser Hausarbeit zunachst der fruhkindliche Autismus, zusammen mit seinen Symptomen, naher betrachtet und dargelegt. Daraufhin wird sich diese Hausarbeit einem Fallbeispiel widmen, mit dessen Hilfe der normgerechte Entwicklungsverlauf und der Verlauf bei einem Kind mit fruhkindlichem Autismus einander gegenubergestellt werden. Danach wird in dieser Hausarbeit eine geeignete Interventionsmanahme erarbeitet. Der fruhkindliche Autismus gehort, wie auch das bekanntere Asperger-Syndrom, zum sogenannten Autismus-Spektrum. Diese werden unter dem Begriff Autismus-Spektrum-Syndrom , kurz ASS, zusammengefasst. Bei ihnen handelt es sich um tiefgreifende Entwicklungsstorungen. Zu ihren Charakteristika zahlen unter anderem Probleme im Bereich der verbalen und nonverbalen Kommunikation, sowie der sozialen Interaktion. Hinzu kommen stereotype, repetitive Verhaltensmuster und zwanghafte Routinen im Alltag. Studien zufolge, die bis zum Jahre 2000 durchgefuhrt wurden, litten ca. 7 von 10.000 Kindern an fruhkindlichem Autismus und rund 20 von 10.000 Kindern an ASS. Die Tendenz ist seither gestiegen. Studien, die nach dem Jahr 2000 durchgefuhrt wurden, deuten darauf hin, dass 17 von 10.000 Kinder an fruhkindlichem Autismus und 62 von 10.000 an ASS leiden.

In the following I will name the research questions I'm dealing with in this paper. What makes the character Sheldon Cooper a funny character? How is it possible for an almost misanthropic character like him to create humor and to entertain an audience? What are the reasons for his impolite nature and in what way are they presented? My hypothesis is that The Big Bang Theory uses impoliteness and power relations to create a specific type of humor, which is able to make even an antisocial character likable and congenial. In order to test my hypothesis, I reviewed the Politeness Strategies by Brown and Levinson (1978) and the Impoliteness Strategies by Culpeper (2005). Furthermore I made researches about the connection between power and impoliteness and their relation to humor. During the procedure I matched the received information with inserted data from the sitcom in order to learn about their effects on spectators. Based on the findings I received during my research, one can say that the combination of impoliteness and power leads under specific conditions to amusement and enjoyment within the audience. Taking into account different factors, can turn an offensive utterance or even a conflict between two or more people into a tool of humor and thus cause delight for observers. The main conclusions of this paper are, that Sheldon Cooper's behavior perfectly matches the Impoliteness Strategies by Culpeper (2005), that power plays a significant role in creating impoliteness and that impoliteness and conflict are strongly connected to humor.

Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Other, grade: 2,0, Technical University of Braunschweig (Institut fur Anglistik und Amerikanistik), language: English, abstract: The following paper compares and contrasts three different studies in order to investigate, whether grammatical gender agreement in heritage speakers involves incomplete acquisition, and if so, how gender agreement is affected by this and other factors like age of onset and context of acquisition. The papers by Montrul, Foote, & Perpinan (2008) and Alarcon (2011) analyse Spanish heritage speakers, whereas the study by Polinsky (2008) focuses on American Russian heritage speakers. In this paper, all three studies are analysed in order to compare the participants, the procedure and the specific results concerning grammatical gender under incomplete acquisition across different languages. The analysis of the papers is followed by a general discussion of their main outcome. In the end, I will conclude the overall results and provide an outlook.

Die Sachanalyse wird sich mit den au eren Merkmalen und der Funktion nationalsozialistischer Architektur befassen. Zudem werden in der Sachanalyse die drei Gebaude, um die es in diesem Unterrichtsentwurf gehen wird, separat von einander beleuchtet. Darauf folgt die didaktische Analyse, die sich mit der Definition und dem Erreichen der Lernziele befassen wird. Zudem sollen darin auch der Ablauf der Projektwoche und die damit verbundenen Methoden erlautert werden. Abgeschlossen wird diese Hausarbeit mit einem Fazit zu der behandelten Thematik und einem Ausblick fur die zukunftige Nutzung und Weiterentwicklung der Ergebnisse.

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2018 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Other, grade: 2,3, Technical University of Braunschweig (Institut fur Anglistik und Amerikanistik), language: English, abstract: What makes a woman a witch? What kinds of stereotypes do witches in movies share with women? What is the source of these stereotypes? How are good and bad witches portrayed in movies and how is "e;white"e; magic depicted? In order to investigate these questions, I am going to conduct an analysis of the witches' depiction in three different, contemporary movies. My hypothesis is that despite multiple attempts to reform the movie character of the witch, for example via the introduction of white magic or good-hearted witches who support the protagonists, their depiction still consists of mainly negative, female stereotypes, so that an unchanged negative representation of the female gender can be observed in the movies I am going to analyse. This paper is structured as follows. First, I am going to start with a historical contextualization of the topic. In order to investigate the origin of the idea of witchcraft there will be an analysis of the historical events that led to its creation. Hereby, I will investigate the sources of the stereotypical witch . Therefore, I will provide an overview of the persecution of a heretical movement, which correlates with the later witch-hunts. Then, I will investigate the mental frame that led to the witch persecutions and the influence of the Catholic Church on the common sense in order to understand the development of this phenomena. After that, I will have a closer look on the characteristics of witches as women in order to clarify the stereotypes concering gender. Furthermore, I will introduce and discuss specific aspects of film theory, which are essential for the following analysis of the movies. Subsequently, based on the film theoretical aspects, I am going to analyse the depiction of witches in the movies Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters , The Last Witch Hunter , and The Witch . Finally, I will finish this paper by concluding the overall outcome and by answering the research questions and the question whether my hypothesis was confirmed, based on my findings.

In the further procedure, I will examine the historical context of the Great Exhibition 1851 and conduct an analysis about how a lesson, focusing on this topic, could be constructed. Furthermore, I want to focus on how industry and nature are presented during the Great Exhibition and how the humans in between dealt with these topics.

What can we as teachers learn from the situation in the United States and what can we do to avoid such in Europe and Germany? In my view it is possible to convey students that early arrangements of integration can support the social peace and the mutual acceptance within multiethnic societies through information about the diverse problems of strong Mexican parallel societies in the US. In the following I am going to conduct an objective clarification of the important matters which influenced today's situation in the United States. Therefore, I will examine the historical development of the Mexican American relationship beginning with the end of the Mexican American War in 1848, the economic effects on Mexican migrants and the United States, the mutual prejudice, and the integrational efforts. During the further procedure I want to focus on how teachers in Germany can prevent a situation like the US has to face it currently. If you meet the criteria, you can come out of the shadow and get right with the law. If you are a criminal, you will be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up. President of the United States Barack Obama used these words in his speech about the problems of the immigration system of his country. The goal of his speech was to convince the citizens of the United States of his plan to legalize the status of about five million illegal immigrants, taking into account some specific conditions. This offer counts mainly for parents who live illegally in the US but have children with US-citizenships or who have a work permission and live there since at least five years. It also counts for people who migrated illegally as children to the United States. Obama wants to enforce this primarily to get these people 'out of the shadows' and thereby out of criminality. Furthermore, he wants to free the illegal migrants from the omnipresent fear of being deported. But the point is, like Obama said in his speech, due to the fact that illegal migrants have to stay in the shadows of their society, parallel societies arise and split the people of a country, like it already happened in the United States.
