Constitutional Law in the United States is a clear and focused discussion of the key elements of constitutional law. Part one analyses the structure and authority of the U.S. government. Part two covers the regulation of the economy, and part three assesses the individual and civil rights under the Constitution. Several cases have been added to this third edition, nearly doubling the size of the text. The structure of the work is only slightly modified. The number of chapters remains the same, but they are now grouped under but two divisions: "The Structures and Powers of Government" and "Civil Rights and Liberties."

This study examines and analyzes human rights issues from a comparative perspective. As the concept of universal human rights gains increasing acceptance in the international community, it has come into conflict with formulations of human rights existing in different cultures and legal systems of the world. An attempt is made in this study to provide a comprehensive understanding of patterns of human rights values and violations extant in various societies. Chapters incorporated in this manuscript will include topics relevant to both international relations and comparative politics.

This important study seeks to address the issues of state building and regime security as key variables affecting and determining a foreign policy-making process during a crisis and confrontation. Mohamedou proceeds from the notion that decision makers' dispositions matter their worldview, ideology, beliefs, and axioms play a role in state building as well as the historical operational environment (societal, regional, and international). The case this study is concerned with is the Second Gulf War, initiated on August 2, 1990, with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, and which came to an end on February 28, 1991, after a military confrontation between Iraq and an international coalition of twenty-eight countries led by the United States of America.

Chieftaincy in Ghana is an extensive account of the many roles of chiefs in modern society. A. Kodzo Paaku Kludze provides detailed accounts and analyses of the law practices, rituals, and customs of chieftaincy. Kludze begins his study with a historical account bringing his analyses to the present, and speculates on the future of chieftaincy in its formal and informal roles in the changing social milieu. The author's close personal background and association with chieftaincy allows him to shed light on the mysterious practices and supernatural connections. Kludze offers an authoritative and comprehensive study of chieftaincy in the context of the modern social, political, and legal institutions of Ghana.

The most current text available on the international and U.S. law of the sea, this much-needed reference is built around the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and other relevant maritime materials. While it addresses all aspects of ocean usage, much emphasis has been placed on issues of contemporary importance such as international fisheries, maritime boundaries, and deep seabed mining. The first part introduces traditional zones of jurisdiction and doctrine such as inland waters, territorial seas, or high seas, as well as some new concepts related to navigation: the regimes of international straits and archipelagic waters and exclusive economic zones. The latter part analyzes functional issues such as fishing, oil and gas exploitation, mining, scientific research, and maritime pollution, referring on each subject to the U.S. law for comparison.
