Commentary on the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles

A careful study of the text itself, breaking down the theological and practical implications of the biblical passages; but with frequent applications to the daily life of the believer and the church.

The book highlights the fundamental characteristics of Luke's theology, and the unity between his Gospel and Acts, adding depth to the most important themes through 31 Excursus and 1 Epilogue of the Acts of the Apostles. The book invites reflection and continued study by means of questions at the end of each chapter, for your interactivity and support in the subjects for those who take it as a textbook for institutions and seminaries.

Introduction to New World Theology

Introduction to New World Theology by Oscar Garcia Johnson is the first volume of seven in the New World Theology series by the same author.

This book is the first volume of a seven-volume series that aims to introduce the overview of New World theology and its social and cognitive location. It also seeks to provide the language and methodology of New World theology.

It contains five chapters that could be considered main avenues.

The first chapter is autobiographical, poetic, disruptive, provocative, and synthetic, and trends that we all have and many of us do not even realize it.

The second chapter is more expository and analytical and seeks to document the continental problematic from the religious and political phenomena intertwined in that marvelous space that I call the American Global South.

Chapter 3 takes us to the decolonial interrogation, to the heart of the matter, and seeks to document the tendencies that emerge from spaces that have been created by the global South.

Chapter 4 leads us to the question why has there been no systematic theology of the American Global South of its own? It provides results of ethnographic studies with academic audiences and millennial leaders from both continental spaces, Latin America and the United States.

Chapter 5 can be considered the formal presentation of New World theology. It includes the argumentation of the theological project, its agenda, a basic terminology and then an outline of the trans-Western theological method. It proposes a New American rhizomatic modality that seeks to overcome the cognitive and ethical, theoretical and practical deficiencies of Northwestern systematics.

Proclaim the Word with Truth and Hope in a Fragmented World

In a time marked by political, cultural, and spiritual polarization, the Hispanic pulpit faces one of its greatest challenges: to preach with truth and hope in the midst of a divided world. Word, Preaching, and Ministry in the Spirit: Transformative Preaching in Polarized Hispanic Contexts, by Óscar Merlo, is an urgent invitation to rediscover the redeeming power of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit in the proclamation of the gospel.

With the authority of someone who has preached on five continents and with deep pastoral sensitivity, Merlo develops a living and contextual homiletic that engages with the realities of Hispanic communities in the United States and Latin America: migration, bilingualism, generational diversity, colonial wounds, and social tensions. From this perspective, he proposes a theological-practical framework—Word, Preaching, and Ministry in the Spirit (WPMS)—that integrates biblical rigor, prophetic voice, and spiritual ministry.

With a warm and profound prose, the author combines testimony, theology, and history to portray preaching not only as discourse, but as an act of incarnation. Each chapter offers practical tools for preparing sermons, discerning the context, and ministering with biblical fidelity and spiritual power.

Word, Preaching and Spirit is, above all, a call to preach with conviction, compassion, and awareness. It is an essential guide for pastors, preachers, and leaders who wish to proclaim the gospel in difficult times, from the streets to auditoriums, from homes to temples. In a world wounded by division, this book reminds us that true preaching not only informs: it transforms, heals, and reconciles.
