In Excuse Me, Is This Yours?, Tuvia Tenenbom returns with his trademark blend of biting humor, blatant irreverence, and piercing curiosity in a bold work of literary journalism. What begins as a simple invitation to share a pizza with a charming Jerusalem journalist turns into a wild, unforgettable odyssey through the hills and wadis of Biblical Israel, a landknown by many names: the West Bank, Judea and Samaria, the Occupied Territories, or simply, "that place."

As in his previous works, Tenenbom delights in being the outsider-insider: a proud Jew roaming the world in search of friend and foe alike, armed with a suitcase full of questions and, of course, contraband Indonesian cigarettes. The book's tone is raw, hilarious, and deeply moving. Tenenbom’s affection for his subjects is real. So is his heartbreak over what has become of reasoned discourse, both in the Holy Land and beyond.

Some readers may bristle at the book’s political incorrectness and its refusal to offer tidy conclusions. But that is precisely its strength. Excuse Me, Is This Yours? rejects intellectual laziness. It is a book that dares to offend because it dares to care.At a time when public discourse is increasingly polarized and predictable, this book stands apart. Urgent, fearless, and sharply observed, it confirms Tuvia Tenenbom as one of the most distinctive and daring voices in contemporary nonfiction.

This is a book about why we eat, and why we diet; why we overeat and then deprive ourselves; why, finally, we fail to feed and satisfy the person we really wish ourselves to be. This is not a diet book in any conventional sense of the word, even though it contains many practical tips for losing weight and maintaining weight loss. Rather, it is a book about appetite. It is about our appetite for life, and how we can maintain it, drawing on the tools of guided imagery taught by Jerusalem psychotherapist and spiritual guide Colette Aboulker-Muskat.

"Bluntly satirical…irresistibly fascinating…seductive and engaging." – New York Times"Hugely entertaining, terribly funny, sarcastic, engaging, powerful, accusatory, judgmental, good!" – National Review

“A literary sensation.” – Haaretz

Catch the Jew! recounts the adventures of gonzo journalist Tuvia Tenenbom, who wanders around Israel and the Palestinian Authority for seven months in search of the untold truths in today's Holy Land. With holy chutzpah, Tenenbom boldly goes where no Jew has gone before, at times risking his life as he assumes the identities of “Tobi the German” and even “Abu Ali” in order to probe into the many stories in this strange land and poke holes in all of them. From the self-hating leftists in Tel Aviv to the self-promoting PLO execs in Ramallah, from the black-clad Haredim of Bet Shemesh to the glowing foreign human rights activists in Beit Hanina, from Jewish settlers and the Christians who come from abroad to toil with them to ardent Jerusalem monks and Bedouins in surprisingly glorious shacks, Tenenbom takes on the people of the land, getting to know them and disarming them as he breaks bread and mingles with anyone and everyone.

Does Palestinian wife number one hate the Jews more than she hates wife number two? Who finances cash-rich NGOs pursuing a Judenrein Israel? Who sets Palestinian olive groves on fire and why? What is the emotional gravity that pulls idealistic human rights activists from other countries to Israel – and only to Israel? Who are the flaming feminists who sacrifice their lives for the rights of polygamists? Whose land is this, anyway?

Dr. Chesler tracks the "slow motion Holocaust" that began in Israel in 2000, a holocaust that remained invisible to most of the world, and that foreshadowed the global expansion of Islamic Jihad. Dr. Chesler documents how educated Westerners and the mainstream media distort the war against the Jews by presenting Jewish self-defense as criminal aggression and by burying or misnaming the facts. This book is a must-read addition to your library in these most frightening and challenging of times.

A profound and meaningful addition to the Passover seder, this unique Haggadah showcases the inherent respect for religious diversity in American society, and is a moving and timely tribute to the values of freedom and liberty. First published in 1992, and compiled and edited by David Geffen, this reprinted edition includes an attractive new cover featuring what has recently come to be the most poignant symbol of freedom – the Statue of Liberty. The back cover displays the proposed seal for the United States submitted by the committee of Franklin, Jefferson and Adams in 1776. With the image of the splitting of the Red Sea, and the words 'Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God', it is a fitting tribute to the current world situation and also highlights the tenacious link between Jewish and American values. The Hebrew text of the American Heritage Haggadah is an exact replica of one of the earliest Haggadot published in the States. Combined with anecdotes and images sourced from Chicago to California, this Haggadah provides an inspiring historical framework in which to contemplate the meaning of slavery and freedom.

In Fragments of Memory, Hana Greenfield relives the horrors of the European Jewish population, during what came to be known as the Holocaust, in spellbinding and horrifying detail.

She remembers family, friends and neighbors who were subjected to inhumane treatment, humiliation, hunger and brutality on a daily basis. She recalls horror, fear and sadness, but also brief and all too infrequent moments of hope and happiness, which are often followed by yet more despair.

Each story is well written in small, bite-sized chunks, and each can be read as a stand-alone piece or as part of the whole book, making it easy for the reader to dip in and out of the chapters as they please.

The sheer horror of Hana's time in different camps, including the notorious Auschwitz, and the constant fear in which she was forced to live, is conveyed through these tales in a way that only one who had lived through it could deliver.

Beyond the Visible is a beautiful example of Agam's famous style of a two dimensional work with dynamic, geometric and colorful shapes that create a misleading three dimensional movement. The grid has a steady rhythm that enhances the works vertical and horizontal directions while the colors deceive the eye and seemingly create a movement.

Shmuel Hanagid, poet, rabbi, Talmudic scholar, statesman, general and bon vivant was born in Cordoba, Spain, in 993 C.E. Settling in the city-state of Granada, he rose through its court life to become Grand Vizier and chief military commander. For years he led Granada's army into the field against its foes. Hanagid was the first major medieval Hebrew poet and the first to write on secular as well as religious themes. Often autobiographical, his poems are about such subjects as God, nature, friendship, love (of both sexes), wine, war, death, and the pains of growing old. Across a thousand years, subtle but passionately bold, they retain the capacity to startle and delight. In this bilingual collection, Hillel Halkin, a leading contemporary translator, has chosen approximately 70 of Hanagid's best poems that tell the story of his life. Grand Things To Write A Poem On is a unique self-portrait in verse of a remarkable Jewish personality.

Rabbi David Forman's engaging, bold and already controversial book offers tough advice as it examines the delicate, troublesome relationship between Israel and Diaspora Jews - particularly in the United States, where American Jews so often feel the pinch of a precarious dual-loyalty. Israel On Broadway pulls no punches when defending Forman's vision for Judaism in the coming century. His words are sharp. His meaning is clear: Judaism in America is moving farther and farther away from its religious and historical heritage. Only Israel can provide a spiritual and national base for Jews. It's a hard fact, but "either you are in or you are out." Though Forman's words ring with alarming tones, Israel On Broadway was not written as a critique, rather as a prescription for building a stronger, healthier Judaism for the new millennium. As an American-born Rabbi living in Israel; as an activist, a writer and a community leader, Forman adds a fresh and remarkably insightful perspective to a subject that is of great importance to the Jewish world.

Jews, Arabs, a ballet star, a Nobel Prize-winning author, a Bedouin doctor, a transsexual and a murderer are just some of the colorful characters whose stories make up the diverse mosaic of Born Again. The title story, "Born Again," is perhaps the most poignant in the book, as it highlights the hope, tragedy and irony which suffuses the daily lives of Israel's inhabitants. It tells the story of Shoshana Katzav, a woman nearly killed by an Arab terrorist, who wakes up after a two-month coma to find herself healed by an Arab doctor. Chapters from Born Again include: Born Again - After Sex Change, A Rabbi in Skirts, New Light on Jesus, Jew and Arab: Siamese Twins, The Philosopher in the Desert, The Swedish Colony in the Holy Land.
