After her exhausting mission in Amazonia, Kathy Austin is off to Scotland on holiday. She intends to take possession of a house her great-aunt bequeathed her. Unfortunately, she finds the house ruined, burned down a few weeks earlier - and it also appears that the police find the circumstances of the old lady's death a tad ... strange. While the locals blame the ghosts and goblins that haunt the moors, Kathy soon discovers signs that point to a very different explanation: 'crop circles' of ... alien origin?!

Kathy Austin and her Brazilian Navy partner have finally stumbled upon the lost German submarine but quickly discover that they aren't the first to set foot in it since it was abandoned. When Reinhart and the doctor, the two Nazis looking for the gold hidden in the U-boot, arrive in turn, bringing with them Jo, the albino with otherworldly powers, secrets will be revealed, old debts will be settled, and the British spy will finally be able to close her investigation - for now.

Kathy Austin's hopes of taking a genuine holiday in Scotland seem dashed as more strange phenomena continue to plague her. On top of her family home having mysteriously burned down, a nightly encounter with an almost inhuman-looking individual briefly sends her to the hospital, where she is soon joined by a catatonic young woman found naked on a nearby beach. With this accumulation of bizarre events coinciding with the presence of known Soviet spies, MI6 finally decides to send her some backup ...

Two separate expeditions into the heart of the Amazon rainforest have trespassed upon Yanomami territory. On one side, Reinhard and his Nazis are looking for a sunken submarine and the gold it transported. On the other, Kathy Austin and Captain Delio of the Brazilian Navy are tracking a potentially extraterrestrial being. Threatened by both the hostile natives and the dangerous jungle itself, all will soon come to realise that the two quests may, in fact, be one and the same ...

On the trail of the bizarre, potentially alien creature photographed in Brazil, Kathy Austin has reached the isolated mission where the photographer died. Unfortunately, the road forward leads into the heart of the rainforest and the territory of extremely hostile natives. Continuing will be difficult and dangerous, especially as she appears to be followed by a number of people including two suspicious Germans ... and the Brazilian Navy!

Lost in the middle of the Amazon rainforest along with Brazilian Navy officer Delio, Kathy Austin did manage to establish contact with the being she came to investigate - though not for long enough to ascertain whether he's of alien origin or not, as the strange individual immediately ran off to assist the Germans about to be slaughtered by the Natives. What is his connection with those former Nazis desperately looking for a lost submarine full of gold?
