The questions in this book were curated by the staff at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, in London, to address all the most common - and a few uncommon - things that children want to know about the universe and about outer space. It covers a mixture of basic questions about planets, moons, human exploration and the origins of the universe, as well as tackling really BIG questions such as 'How do black holes work?', 'Is it worth going to space?' and 'What's going to happen at the end of time?'Join two curious children and a robot programmed with all the answers as they guide readers through some of the most mind-boggling facts, and a refreshingly honest take on what things we simply don't know, and how to approach questions that don't have simple, straight answers.Ideal for reading alone, but also an excellent place to generate classroom debate about the wonder of science and the value of space exploration.Chapters in this book include:The BasicsWhat space is, where it is, what's in it - and a few things about space we don't or can't know. The Solar SystemA look at what's in the solar system, from planets and moons to comets and asteroids.Secrets of StarsWhat stars are made of, where they come from, and what happens to them.People in SpaceHow, when and where people have explored - and the places we want to know more about. The Biggest QuestionsA few things we know... and LOTS of things we don't.
