Set in Bethlehem, Jaziz is first noticed by Jeremy, the leader of Bethlehem shepherds. Strangely enough, Jaziz meant protector of shepherds. Jaziz is small and limping and tied to a bigger donkey who happens to be his mother Nakira. Before they are separated, Nakira ties a red ribbon with a bell around Jazizs neck and tells him theyd be together again, God-willing. By a goodly turn of events, Jaziz gets rescued by Jeremy and his band while he is being beaten by Sarif when he refused to carry sacks of stolen goods.
