Två apor, den ena i röd tvärrandig tröja, den andra i blå, är huvudpersoner. Från början jonglerar den blåklädde med en gul banan. På avstånd ser man den rödklädde komma springande. Glatt utropar den rödklädde banan!. Eftersom den blåklädde inte vill dela med sig, upprepas ordet med ett frågetecken på följande uppslag. På fjärde bilduppslaget upprepas det med hot. På femte uppslag fullständigt exploderar den rödklädde apan i ilska. På uppslag sex ser vi en förtvivlad apa. Åttonde uppslag kommer ordet snälla följt av ett frågetecken. På nionde uppslag delar den blåklädde med sig, varför glädjen åter infinner sig. Ett kort ögonblick ser det ut som om den blåklädde ska gå miste om frukten, varför också han på följande uppslag tvingas till ett snälla, innan de båda på sista uppslaget kommer överens i ett gemensamt BANAN!!.
