On a recognizable Earth, spring 2024, truth itself has become predatory. Lyla, the goddess of truth and punishment, awakens whenever humanity's deceit tips the balance. She hunts the liars whose falsehoods change lives:Sally (Los Angeles): a music executive whose "good lies" destroy the artists she swore to protect.Wayne (New York): a chef haunted by a fatal "white lie" buried in his kitchen.Christine (Chicago): a woman starving behind a "beautiful lie."Howard (Detroit): an auto-industry insider spreading an "innocent lie" through supply-chain greed.Charlie (Boston): a realtor who weaponizes the "bold-faced lie" for love and profit. Each episode explores a different city, sin, and form of retribution as Lyla toys with her prey through traps, hallucinations, and psychological warfare. Every time a liar dies, Lyla grows stronger, feeding on guilt, regret, and denial until the line between judgment and evil vanishes. The Lies We Tell Ourselves is a high-concept horror franchise that redefines anthology storytelling for a streaming-ready generation: grounded realism, supernatural terror, and mythic justice intertwined in one cinematic universe.
