Frederic Rodrigo Gruger – illustratör

Sketches of a Kansas county town by the editor who ran its newspaper - the bank, the funeral, the man who came back rich and the man who did not come back. White knew everyone he was describing and they all read it. This edition adds 47 bound plates of American landscape painting by Bierstadt, Homer, Moran and Bellows, alongside 13 restored and coloured illustrations.
