Dias finally returns home after decades of war. He’s hailed a hero and promptly rewarded with his own domain...which turns out to be little more than empty plains. Population: zero. Dias, who has only ever known battle, finds himself at a loss. How is he supposed to survive, let alone cultivate his territory into a thriving, prosperous dominion when there’s nothing but grass as far as he can see?

Fortunately for Dias, a horned girl by the name of Alna is about to show him there’s more to the plains than meets the eye!

Life just keeps getting busier for Dias as he makes the best of his homestead out on the grassy plains. Realizing he needs a stable source of food for his people, he tries his hand at farming but quickly learns raising crops is harder than he thought. On top of that, he’s got new residents to welcome in the form of three dogkin clans, all of them brimming with energy and hungry for a new life. But juggling the challenges of his own domain isn’t all Dias has to worry about. Unbeknownst to him, Princess Diane is planning an invasion, and she has quite the ace up her sleeve...

It’s summer on the grassy plains. With war behind him, Dias has his hands full with everything daily life can throw at him. There’s the new but strangely familiar merchant, the dogkin refusing to spend their hard earned coin, and the appearance of some of Dias’s old friends and family, each of whom has their own reasons for searching him out. On top of it all, Dias is about to meet Alna’s brother, who is convinced he has to rescue his sister from the evil new lord of the plains!

When Dias comes down with a fever, the twins nurse him back to health with a mysterious herb... Could it be that Dias really did receive the legendary sanjivani herb from that weird talking baar? Before he can think too much about it, however, Dias learns from Eldan that he’s officially a duke! The title comes with a whole host of new and complicated responsibilities, but what has Dias most worried is simply deciding on a new family name! Can Dias learn and remember all the new and confusing laws and rules while Iluk Village prepares for the freezing winter ahead?

When a family of cavekin people arrive in Iluk Village, Dias gets a history lesson and three new residents ready to work as blacksmiths. However, before they can get started actually making anything, Dias will have to help them acquire the materials they need to build and work their furnace. But the cavekin aren’t the only visitors with business in Iluk. There’s a councillor from the Beastland Kingdom, a former civil servant determined to see his orders to completion, and...a fire-breathing dragon hellbent on razing Iluk Village to the ground!

With the flame dragon defeated, peace returns to Iluk. Peace, however, doesn’t mean rest and relaxation, and Dias quickly finds his hands full and his schedule packed. First there’s the falconkin Sahhi, a hunter who joins the village in the hopes of making a name for himself for the pride of his hometown. Then there’s Hubert, who has discovered that the area south of Baarbadal is uninhabited; he has his sights firmly set on acquiring it and expanding the domain’s borders! However, they’re about to find out that sometimes a place is abandoned for a reason, and that something ancient still resides to the south…

The snow has melted and spring has returned to the grasslands. It’s been one year since Dias arrived in the domain now known as Baarbadal, and the start of the year marks a time of celebration...as well as a huge spring-clean! When things finally calm down, Dias and his family reward themselves with a trip to Mahati to see Eldan. It’s a chance to take in new sights, meet old friends, engage in unexpected wrestling matches, and shop for the best horses on the market!

When Dias’s old friend Goldia visits the village, he comes with an important reminder: Every respectable domain always has a respectable guesthouse for its high profile visitors. Dias sets about building the best facilities Iluk can offer, but he doesn’t even get the time to appreciate his work before some of those visitors show up to use it—one a representative of Princess Helena, the other a representative of Princess Isabelle! Can Dias navigate the prim and proper world of noble etiquette? And how will he react to offers of...marriage?!

After fighting the rebels in Mahati, Dias welcomes the peace that awaits him in Iluk. He’s also happy to find that the village fields are expanding, preparations for future trade are going great, and cellars are being built in key locations. However, when a councillor arrives from the Beastland Kingdom to discuss future relations, it means taking on more construction projects—namely a new border station out west. Lacking both the necessary manpower and building materials, Dias resigns himself to the fact that it would be a long-term project—until Narvant comes up with a plan to get him both! The catch? It’s going to require as much alcohol as Dias can get his hands on...

After decades of war, Dias returns home as a hero and is rewarded with his own domain. When he arrives at his new lands, however, they turn out to be little more than endless grassy plains without even a single subject.

Literally put out to pasture, Dias is stumped as to how to live any life other than a soldier’s. But when a horned girl named Alna crosses his path, Dias takes his first steps to being the lord of a not-so-empty frontier.

Dias is getting used to life on the plains with his new wife—er, fiancée—Alna, and they even have actual subjects now: Dias’s old war buddy Klaus, and a group of refugees fleeing a civil uprising in the neighboring Kasdesk domain.

Dias is desperate to raise the population in Nezrose without resorting to slavery, but he’s about to get a visit from none other than the lord of the Kasdesk domain himself, an infamous womanizer always accompanied by a harem of slaves. Dias will soon learn that as on the battlefield, politics and diplomacy is all about seeing who’s friend or foe.

With the Nezrose Domain expanding, Dias realizes that he needs to prepare for winter, which means a more stable and self-sufficient food supply. He decides to try his hand at cultivating farmland, but he’s about to find out that nothing grows on the grassy plains except for, well, grass. Unbeknownst to Dias, however, some kind of force is at work upon the soil, and the twins Senai and Ayhan hold the key to making the land fertile once more.

Dias’s attempts at farming are finally paying off (thanks to Senai and Ayhan’s secret forestkin magic!) but he won’t be able to rest on his laurels just yet. The village needs to work out a more effective form of governance; meanwhile, the dogkin arrive with a literally monstrous surprise in tow. And outside the Nezrose domain lurks a burgeoning threat: a vengeful Princess Diane dreaming of conquest. Oh, and in the midst of all this, guard captain Klaus falls in love!

The war with Princess Diane has come to a surprising end, and peace has returned to Nezrose. Still, a domain lord’s work is never done, and Dias and Alna must turn their attention to more mundane but equally pressing challenges. First, their growing economy presents a host of issues heralded by the arrival of a new yet oddly familiar merchant. Next, Dias has to figure out how to deal with the unintended consequences of his generosity to the dogkin. Finally, Dias faces his greatest challenge ever: a big-time wedding!

Iluk welcomes Dias’s friends—and a new herd of baars! This thrusts Francis into a battle for leadership over the village baars; does he have the chops to beat his new rival? On top of that,  Alna’s brother Zorg has returned to rescue his little sister, convinced that she’s been forced to marry the despicable and dastardly new domain lord. Can Dias clear the air (and stop his wife from murdering her brother) in time to thwart a dangerous threat looming over the village?

When Dias is hit hard by a high fever, it looks like he’ll be out of action for months…that is, until the twins nurse him back to health with the help of a mysterious herb. Is it the sanjivani of legend? But Dias has no time to think about it once Eldan arrives with news that will impact the future of Iluk Village and maybe even the entire Kingdom of Sanserife! And it couldn’t happen at a worse time–as summer fades into autumn, the inhabitants of the grasslands must prepare for a long, harsh winter.

Iluk Village’s winter prep is steadily taking shape. The hunting and foraging is going well, the firewood stockpile is growing, and Ellie is making warm winter clothing for everyone. But Grandma Maya prophesizes hardships on the horizon in the form of inclement weather and invading monsters. Dias rises to the challenge undaunted, but things get complicated when the pregnant Francoise and dogkin mothers finally go into labor. Has this battle-hardened warrior finally met his match?!
