El nombre está inspirado en el protagonista de un cuento infantil tradicional catalán. En él, Patufet es un niño tan pequeño, tan pequeño, que cuando va por la calle tiene que ir cantando una breve canción para que no lo pisen. En castellano, es el personaje Garbancito, en el que se inspira la película " Garbancito de La Mancha".

La cigarra no quiere trabajar porque solamente quiere tocar el violín, al venir el invierno se encuentra desprovista de alimento y su vecina la hormiga la rescata. Finalmente decide trabjar y tocar el violín para las hormigas, una vez finalizada la jornada laboral.
