Spirou and Fantasio are spending a few days at Champignac Castle, keeping an eye on the estate while the Count is away visiting family. One night, as they are preparing to watch a comet pass in the sky, Fantasio's clumsiness causes them to lose consciousness. They awaken to the very noisy arrival of de Champignac aboard one of his strange machines - except that the old man claims to be not the Count himself, but one of his descendants... back from the future!

Fantasio, chasing a scoop, slips through a cordon sanitaire surrounding a cargo ship fresh from Antarctica. He's hoping to investigate some disturbing rumours about the base where the ship comes from. But a seriously ill man has escaped the quarantine and begs for assistance. The Count of Champignac can help, but only if he has access to a very rare toxin - one that is stored, for example, in that mysterious ice base, where more patients await...

A hilarious flashback to Moscow in Soviet times for Spirou and Fantasio. Spirou and Fantasio, in transit through Paris airport, are kidnapped by French counter-intelligence: in exchange for the release of two French nationals from Soviet prisons, the KGB demanded the two reporters' assistance. Because Moscow has a problem: the mob is getting increasingly powerful and bold, and it has infiltrated the authorities so thoroughly they can't fight back anymore. They do now, however, that the big boss is someone Spirou and Fantasio have met before and simply cannot ignore...Also available: Spirou & Fantasio 1: Adventure Down Under 9781849180115 $11.95 Spirou & Fantasio 2: Spirou and Fantasio in New York 9781849180542 $11.95 Spirou & Fantasio 3: Running Scared 9781849181167 $11.95 Spirou & Fantasio 4: Valley of the Exiles 9781849181570 $11.95 Spirou & Fantasio 5: The Marsupilami Thieves 9781849181679 $15.95

Back in the present after their adventures through time, Spirou and Fantasio try to pick up their life where they left off. But the magazine refuses to publish Fantasio's account of their extraordinary journey, and he falls into depression. Until, that is, the bizarre and annoying Snuffeller reappears, bearing a call for help from Aurelien de Champignac, 'their' count's descendant. A trip to the future appears in order - but what terrible discoveries await our intrepid reporters?

Even in the worst of places, you'll be all right as long as you have your best friend with you. Right...? Spirou and Fantasio, swallowed by the raging waters of the river, find themselves in an unknown valley filled with very peculiar, and very dangerous, life. As they brace themselves to face a hostile nature long enough to find their way out, Fantasio contracts a deadly disease that turns him into a homicidal maniac. Spirou must now find a way to save him-and himself-and escape the deserted valley. If it really is deserted, that is...

An old seaplane skims the waves over the Pacific. Onboard are Vito Cortizone, former Don of the New York Mafia forced into early retirement by Spirou and Fantasio; Von Schnabbel, unscrupulous pilot; and a mysterious cargo supposed to turn Cortizone's fortunes around. But the mafioso is cursed with terrible luck, and the plane ends up at the bottom of an isolated island's lagoon. When two months later a sailing boat arrives, an unrecognisable Vito sees none other than our two adventurer-reporters come ashore!

Spirou and Fantasio's friend, the Count of Champignac, asks them to join him in Australia, where he has heard that an ancient monolith is still standing. When they arrive, Champignac's colleague Walker Donahue informs them that Champignac has been abducted by local gangster Sam. The monolith they're after stands in the vicinity of an aboriginal mining village, which is constantly prey to white prospectors trying to steal indigenous resources. Spirou and Fantasio must save Champignac from Sam's clutches and help him find the legendary monolith while standing by the aboriginal people.

Spirou and Fantasio have won a million dollars and a trip to New York City. How lucky! Well, maybe not that lucky, since it's all a plot by Don Cortizone to change his own fortune in his struggle against The MandarinA"-by enlisting the help of truly lucky people. Before long, the two reporters find themselves in the middle of a shooting war between Italian Mafia and Chinese Triad-and they'll have to make their own luck.
