In the northern region, Blackpeak Mountain towers over all…and that’s exactly where Fia wants to visit during her time off. She's eager to find Zavilia and learn what became of his quest to become the dragon king. During her journey, Fia finds herself in an unexpected family reunion. Then, as her party ascends the mountain, an unknown dragon attacks! What has become of Zavilia? And can Fia and friends survive the deadly Blackpeak Mountain?

REUNIONS AND REMINISCENCE! At long last, Fia reunites with her beloved black dragon Zavilia atop Blackpeak Mountain, although her companions--Kurtis, Green, and Blue--are rather rattled! The joyful reunion gives way to introspection as Fia listens in on conversations about a great emperor from three hundred years ago…and wonders if it may connect to her previous life. But as Fia takes time to confide in her dear Zavilia, her companions encounter a strange girl with raven-black hair...

Kurtis, captain of the Thirteenth Knight Brigade, regains his memories of serving as the Great Saint’s personal knight three hundred years ago and insists on serving Fia again. With his and another saint’s help, Fia works to create a cure for yellow-speckle fever, the disease that’s ravaging Sutherland islanders once more. But in doing so, she risks revealing the truth about her past self and putting everyone in grave danger...

The story of a young woman’s quest to become a knight while hiding her saintly power—inspired the anime! And don’t miss the original light novels or the prequel series, both also from Seven Seas.Born into a family of knights, Fia has always dreamed of following the path to knighthood too, except she's the least talented of them all. On the day of her initiation test, a deadly injury prompts her life to flash before her eyes...and reveal her former life as a powerful Saint who defeated the Demon King in a bygone era! Her painful death as a Saint made her swear she’d never accept sainthood and its dangers again. But now, with her saintly power returned, Fia has the chance to be a more powerful knight than she’d ever dreamed—that is, if she can last long enough!
