Mahlon Blaine – illustratör

A one-eyed Jazz Age artist eludes suicide (unlike his perfect model) and, haunted by this nude muse, clings to a 50-year rollercoaster of elation and despair. From rugged Oregon to silent Hollywood to bustling NYC’s skyscraper canyons he befriends John Steinbeck, Woody Guthrie, Tina Modotti, world-famous mentalist Joseph Dunninger, John Carradine, and even a teenage Bob Dylan. This historical novel weaves a tapestry of whimsey and irony (a la G.K. Chesterton) into... a curious account? A peculiar portrayal? A mysterious ‘memoir’? All of that... and then some! Watch the droll master illustrator reveal ‘himself’ in 60 chapters and dozens of audacious and impudent pictures and drawings.
