Join Sally in her learning adventures of how to politely answer to adults while setting clear and healthy boundaries, particularly in situations that could lead to sexual abuse. When children gain experience setting boundaries, they have a greater chance of keeping themselves safe from those who do not have their best interests at heart.
This book will help teach children to respect adults while emphasizing the importance of listening to their intuition.
The traffic lights in this book are a simple way for children to visualize when a request is OK.
Green light: a request makes them feel happy and excited-they can say yes.
Yellow light: a request makes them feel confused and unsure of what to do-they should consult with a trusted adult.
Red light: a request makes them feel scared or uncomfortable-they should get to a safe place.
Recommended Audience: Grades K-3
