Each piece brings you closer to a laugh-out-loud reveal, resulting in a distinctive, joy-filled image that’s every bit as entertaining to complete as it is to admire. Whiskered faces peer from beneath beribboned bonnets; furry tails are draped over parasols; soft, fat paws grapple with flowers, hats and pieces of fruit. From damsels in distress to Old Testament prophets, self-portraits to royal portraits, the Middle Ages to the Impressionists, Susan Herbert’s cats playfully take over the art world's greatest hits. Ever since her first book, A Cats Gallery of Art, was published by Thames & Hudson in 1990, Herbert’s clever, witty reworkings of classic paintings have delighted readers everywhere. Numerous books followed, including the hugely popular compendiums Cats Galore (2015) and More Cats Galore (2021), as well as a delightful pop-up edition (2020). Many of her most mischievous and charming characters were inspired by her own cats, Polly and Clover, whose personalities shine through in every scene. Now brought to life in puzzle form, Herbert’s feline takeovers remain as sharp, funny, and irresistibly charming as ever — ensuring that her devoted fans will keep coming back for more.
