William J. Glackens – illustratör

A wooden warship laid up at a naval yard in 1865, the family that has lived beside her, and what the end of the war leaves them. Brady was a naval academy man before he took orders and wrote ships with real affection. This edition is bound with a gallery of 51 plates of marine painting, among them works by Thomas Luny, Martinus Rorbye and Thomas Miles Richardson, alongside eight restored and coloured illustrations.
