Financial market modeling is a prime example of a real-life application of probability theory and stochastics. This authoritative book discusses the discrete-time approximation and other qualitative properties of models of financial markets, like the Black-Scholes model and its generalizations, offering in this way rigorous insights on one of the most interesting applications of mathematics nowadays.

Fractional calculus has emerged as a powerful and effective mathematical tool in the study of several phenomena in science and engineering. This text addressed to researchers, graduate students, and practitioners combines deterministic fractional calculus with the analysis of the fractional Brownian motion and its associated fractional stochastic calculus and includes examples, exercises, and problems that focus on computational aspects.

This volume provides an overview of two of the most important examples of interacting particle systems, the contact process, and the voter model, as well as their many variants introduced in the past 50 years. These stochastic processes are organized by domains of application (epidemiology, population dynamics, ecology, genetics, sociology, econophysics, game theory) along with a flavor of the mathematical techniques developed for their analysis.

This book discusses the systems of interacting particles evolving in the random media. The focus is on the study of both the finite subsystems motion and the flow, describing motion of all particles in the space. The integral characteristics of the system and mass distribution are also covered and results are illustrated with examples from turbulence theory, synchronization and DNA evolution.

The recent advent of rapid technological changes, scientific developments, and educational expansions have created complex heterogeneities, environmental uncertainties, and socio-economic-ecological inequalities globally. The innovative beneficial resources upgrade and update the existing varieties of structural features such as hereditary, random environmental, spatial and atmospheric perturbations in human population dynamics processes and predator-prey systems. The highly interconnected system under operating random environmental conditions is represented by nonlinear nonstationary large-scale multi-level hierarchical network-centric dynamic processes of Ito-Doob and finite Markovian types with network-centric structural perturbations. For instance, complex spatial, behavioral, and epidemiological structures in human populations vary from citizen to visitor; practicing and adhering to different disease preventive measures at sites in meta-populations; and different ages, stages and resistance levels to infections, respectively. An advantage of the presented results in simple algebraic system parameters form is easy verification and application to planning, prevention, policies, stabilization, monitoring and diseases management.
