This book is developed for regulating hydrological survey and design of highway engineering. It is applicable to hydrological survey and design of new highways, upgrading or reconstructing of existing highways. Hydrological survey and design of highway engineering covers hydrological investigation and survey of subgrade, bridges and culverts, hydrological and hydraulic analysis and computation, arrangement of bridges and culverts, and setting of regulation works, etc.

This book is formulated to standardize and regulate highway safety audit. It is applicable to the stages of feasibility study, preliminary design, detailed design, pre-opening and operation of motorways and class-1, class-2 and class-3 highways. Based on recent research and practical experience in China and foreign countries, development of the current focus safety audit, and the requirement to develop a framework for “Safe Transportation”, this book is issued for implementation accordingly.
